United Way Lanark County is looking for volunteer members to help move our work forward!

United Way Lanark County (UWLC) is looking for an Advisory Council member to help move our work to the larger community.  In partnership with three local United Ways, UWLC works to use our collective expertise and skills, and those of our partners, to solve some of our communities’ most pressing chronic issues.

We are dedicated to improving lives and building community by engaging individuals and mobilizing collective action.  In Lanark County we support local partners who provide vital services in our community – approximately 1 in 8 individuals benefit each year from donations made to United Way.  Contributions support programs and social services that serve children, families, youth, seniors and those with life challenges in our community.  UWLC supports organizations that both serve and represent the heart of your community.

Do you see yourself as part of this movement?  Are you able to bring insight and enthusiasm for making meaningful change in both Lanark County and Smiths Falls, and the larger community?

We are looking for an Advisory Council member who will, with the AC Chair, participate on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Prescott-Russell, Ottawa, Lanark and Renfrew Counties.  This means attending one board meeting per month at 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. in Ottawa (in person or by teleconference) and one Advisory Council meeting per month at 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Lanark County.  In addition, the UW PROLRC holds an annual Board Retreat each February in Ottawa.
